SALISBURY — Rev. Richard Joyner is the inspirational holiday speaker at the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce’s Power in Partnership (PIP) breakfast on Thursday, Dec. 15, 7:30 a.m. at Trinity Oaks (728 Klumac Road).

The nonprofit organizations in our community are the sponsors of the December PIP.

Joyner is senior pastor of Conetoe Missionary Baptist Church and board chair of Conetoe Family Life Center (CFLC). He opened CFLC after he noticed that the health issues within the church and town were rampant. He has dedicated his life’s work to taking a comprehensive approach to these challenges.

Through his work he has built strong partnerships with local agencies and entities, including public, private and nonprofit organizations, universities and hospital systems.

Joyner has been recognized for his unselfish and tireless work, helping a community (Conetoe) and the region grow beyond their health and socioeconomic issues. He has received numerous awards including being recognized as a top 10 CNN National Hero.

The dates for the remaining 2016-17 PIP series are:

• Jan. 19 — economic outlook
• Feb. 16 — arts speaker
• March 16 — agri-business
• April 20 — health care
• May 18 — Leadership Rowan graduation

The chamber’s breakfast series averaged over 150 attendees each month during its last three seasons. The 2016-17 series is bringing top notch speakers to the community and providing high level networking opportunities.

Sponsors have the exclusive marketing rights to the banquet room and provide a five-minute sponsor profile on their company.

Partner agencies will share updates with the local business leaders and address issues of concern for the entire region.

The Leadership Rowan Class will start their day at the breakfast and then venture out for each day’s session focused on a different aspect of the community.

If you are interested in obtaining a half-season Power Card, please make your reservation by Dec. 13. The Power Card is the Rowan Chamber’s frequent attender program. You receive a discounted price for the series and do not have to make a reservation each month. The cost is $75 for members and $150 for non-members.

If you are not a Power Card holder, individual reservations are welcome; however, the reservation deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 13, by 5 p.m. The cost is $15 for members and $25 for non-members.
