Hugh Lee Tyson
Hugh Lee Tyson, 82, Kannapolis, died Sunday (May 13, 2007) at the N.C. State Veterans Home, Salisbury.
Born April 3, 1925, in Anson County, Mr. Tyson was a son of the late James C. and Bennie Jordan Tyson.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
After moving to Kannapolis from Wadesboro in 1942, he worked in Cannon Mills Plant 1 Machine Shop and the upper supply room for approximately 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, where he was an usher and greeter and active with the Boy Scout program for years.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ruth Barnes Tyson, and sister Loretta Clark, Lilesville.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday (May 16, 2007), Central Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Curtis Parker. Entombment, Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum.
