Southern Select Community Credit Union (CCU) President/CEO Huyla Jackson has announced the addition of Norman Whiteside, vice president, to the credit union’s management team.

His experience and success in a variety of management and operations roles will serve Southern Select Community Credit union and our members well.”
Whiteside comes to Southern Select following his tenure with Charlotte Metro Credit Union where he was vice president of branch administration, focusing on the staff and facilities of the call center, branch offices, consumer and mortgage lending, collections and facilities.
Many will recall interactions with Whiteside from his many years as a local banker with Security Bank and Central Carolina Bank here, and First Charter.

In addition to his professional experience, Whiteside has been involved with numerous business, civic and volunteer endeavors including those with Leadership Kannapolis, Leadership Lake Norman, Lions Club of Kannapolis, Rotary Club of Lake Norman /Huntersville, the Kiwanis Club, Kannapolis City Schools’ Teacher of the Year and its BEST program, Huntersville Elementary School Volunteer Readers and the Piedmont Chapter of the North Carolina Credit Union League.
Whiteside received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Florida State University in Tallahassee and earned an RMA in commercial lending at East Carolina University in Greenville.
Whiteside and his family, wife Sally and son Will, are area residents.
