Business relocations

Three businesses are in or will soon be in new locations downtown.

The Lettered Lily

The Lettered Lily Design Studio is a business specializing in one-of-a-kind invitations and announcements, business branding and marketing material and specialty printing techniques. The business also offers gifts, paper products and stationery.

Formerly at 109 W. Fisher, The Lettered Lily is now at 113 W. Fisher St.

Taylor Sexton, co-owner of the store with Megan Ferden, said the expanded space has been newly renovated. The new location offers a new consultation mezzanine for customers and the upper floor provides space for production and offices.

The Lettered Lily will still keep the same hours, including extended hours on Fridays throughout December for the holiday season, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

The Kitchen Store

The Kitchen Store, currently at 121 W. Innes St., will be moving to a new location at the beginning of the new year.

Dennis Lunsford, owner, said the store’s last day at its current location will be Dec. 31.

Lunsford said the new location is a bit bigger, but the main reason for the move is to hopefully gain more foot traffic.

He said since he was one of the last shops on West Innes Street, it was difficult to draw customers. On North Main Street, Lunsford hopes to benefit from the foot traffic  surrounding businesses.

The property owner of the new space is adding new lighting, paint and fixing up the exterior of the space, Lunsford said.

Since the space will be bigger, Lunsford also said he expects to expand his inventory a little more.

The shop will keep its same hours.

Marie Leonard-Hampton Real Estate Services

Marie Leonard-Hampton Real Estate Services is now at 111 W. Fisher St.

Leonard-Hampton previously worked at Wallace Realty and she said it was the right time and opportunity to expand her business and start her own firm.

Leonard-Hampton has been serving the Salisbury and Rowan County community for 21 years. Her firm offers full real estate brokerage services.

The firm is open every day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call the firm at 704-239-3096, email at marie@leonardhamptonhomes.com or visit the website at leonardhamptonhomes.com.

New shops in Salisbury Emporium
Three new shops have opened in the Salisbury Emporium just in time for Christmas shopping according to Mickey and Betty Black, owners.
Carr Garner has started her new shop, Gardenias, in the lower level gallery. Currently, the shop is filled with Christmas decorations and seasonal gifts. Carr plans on carrying upscale home accessories and decorations after the first of the year.
Bohemia Antiques is the new shop opened by Cliff Kelley, an experienced dealer from Charlotte. His offerings range from traditional to mid-century to country styles and include china, crystal, artwork, occasional painted furniture, and more.  You will also find framed items and collectible home pieces.
A popular spot at the Farmer’s Market this summer has been “Teachers Can, Too.”  Cindy and Lydia Adkins, both high school teachers in Rowan County, prepare and can goods in their own NC state inspected home kitchen. Their ingredients are all local and include apple butters and jams of fig, peach, rhubarb, strawberry, blueberry and blackberry. The teachers invite their customers from the market to visit their new space.
The Salisbury Emporium, a collection of over 80 shops and galleries, is located at 230 E. Kerr St., and is open every day through Christmas Eve.
