My wish…
I wish you a Merry Christmas
I wish you a Merry Christmas
I wish you a Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year!
My wish? A wish is defined as a desire, yearning, longing, or hope for something to happen. It is generally not easily attainable. So, that means that a WISH could take some WORK.
My wish for you – and for me – is love. What’s love got to do with it? A lot. It’s a wish to receive love – and to give love. Human nature seems to keep us focused on ourselves and see everything through our own lenses. We have to live with ourselves every day! ‘Stuff’ in our lives can really get in the way of giving and receiving love, so be on the lookout! It’s not about the stuff! It’s about the love!
1 Corinthians 13 tells us all we need to know about it. Read it lately? I hadn’t either. Here’s the ‘love list’ for us to practice:
* Love is patient.
* Love is kind.
* Love doesn’t envy.
* Love doesn’t lift itself up.
* Love isn’t proud.
* Love doesn’t easily provoke.
* Love thinks no evil.
* Love rejoices in truth.
* Love bears all things.
* Love believes all things.
* Love hopes all things.
* Love endures all things.
Love never fails. Love shows we care. Love is the greatest attribute we can have, because God is love.
This ‘wish’ for us WILL take some work. Human nature may be self-centered, but our God is love-centered. So, let’s work on loving others as God loves us. I have a feeling it will be worth it.
And… last of all:
Oh, bring me some figgy pudding
Oh, bring me some figgy pudding
Oh, bring me some figgy pudding…
Since I’ve established a pattern of writing about grocery store visits, milkshakes, food, and refrigerators, I felt I had to continue the tradition… (Yes, there really is such a thing as figgy pudding, because I found the recipe!)
