Palmer baptism
Harper Carlton Palmer, son of Jonathan and Shelley Harper Palmer, was baptized Sunday, Jan. 13 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Salisbury. The Rev. William S. Ketchie officiated the service, which occurred on the Baptism of our Lord Sunday.
Harper wore the family baptismal gown, a solid white Victorian length linen gown with eggshell satin trim. He wore a silver bracelet and carried a child’s Bible, given to him by his aunt and uncle, Joel and Jenny Harper of Charlotte. The flowers on the altar were placed in honor of Harper’s baptism by Jonathan, Shelley and Blake Palmer.
A luncheon followed the service at the home of Harper’s grandparents, Shelton and Freida Harper of Salisbury. Guests included: Frances Harper, great-grandmother, of Salisbury; Barbara Palmer, grandmother, of Concord; Donald and Rickie Gheen, great aunt and uncle of Salisbury; Jimmy and Vicky Roach, great aunt and uncle, of Enochville; Jeremy Harper, uncle, of Salisbury; James, Crystal, Tyler and Chandler Palmer of Kannapolis; Cheryl and Morgan Blackwelder of Fredericksburg, Va; Brad, Dana, Ruby Claire and Virginia Walser, Jay and Jody Kepley, and Ben, Alisha and Ethan Mastro, all of Salisbury.
Schneider christening
Montgomery Eve Schneider will be christened today at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Pastor Dale Bost will officiate for the service.
Montgomery is the daughter of Thomas and Morgan (Beck) Schneider of Salisbury. Montgomery’s grandparents are Kenneth and Gail Beck of Salisbury, Michael and Cavela Schneider of Lexington, Indiana. Montgomery’s great-grandparents are Lloyd J. Beck of Spencer, Richard and Jane Miller of Hollansburg, Ohio, and Jane and Delbert Braund of New Madison, Ohio.
Red Hats
On Friday, Dec. 14, hostess Phyllis Sides prepared a Christmas dinner for the Red Hatters of the Classy Red Hat Society at her home.
After a delicious feast, a contest for the tackiest red hat outfit was held. Barbara Earley won first prize and Phyllis Byrd won second.
