SALISBURY — Police are looking for a small group of men who fired shots into a car after one of them cut in front of a woman in line at a local convenience store. Officials say the woman and one of the men exchanged words before the shooting incident.

The incident occurred at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Three Stars Mini Mart, formerly M&L Mart, 1130 N. Main St. at the corner of 11th Street. Police said the victim went into the store and said there were four to five men inside. One of them cut in front of her, police said. After the woman and man exchanged words, she left the store, but three to four men blocked her from passing on the sidewalk, police said.

Her husband was in their car and she eventually got into her vehicle. The woman drove away but heard loud noises and assumed the men threw rocks at her vehicle. She waited until she turned the corner to look at the car and saw bullet holes. Police say two of the men fired into the vehicle.

No one was struck, but the couple’s white Lexus was damaged. Police say there is video of the incident available and they are working to identify suspects. No detailed descriptions were given.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333 or the Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers at 866-639-5245.
