Warming trend will help get rid of snow

We’ve now had a reprieve from the bitterly cold temperatures of the weekend, and a steady warmup is expected through Friday.
Tuesday’s high of 45 helped to melt some of the snow and ice, along with a return of sunshine.
Today, the high will be around 51 degrees, but that will be accompanied by a 30 percent chance of rain and some patchy fog through lunchtime. It will be cloudy, but the warmer weather will help reduce the snow and ice problems. The low Wednesday will be 45, the same as Tuesday’s high.
Clouds will hang around for most of the week, but Thursday will be even warmer, with a high of 61. The low will be 48.
Bust out the T-shirts for Friday, when the high will be 67 and we’ll see more sunshine. It’s hard to believe some areas had lows around 5 degrees Monday morning.
Friday night and the next several days will be cloudy again, and there will be a 30 percent chance of showers Friday night, with a low of 42.
Saturday brings a greater chance of rain, 40 percent, and the high will moderate to 48 degrees. Saturday night’s low will be 41.
Sunday, we’re back in the 50s, around 57, with mostly cloudy skies. The low will be 44.
For the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the high will be 58, with mostly cloudy skies. The clouds stay around for Monday night and Tuesday, with a low of 49.
Another chance of rain comes Tuesday, 30 percent, with a high of 63.
Have we seen the coldest, snowiest days of winter? It’s far too early to tell, but it’s a good bet you can give your shovels a rest for the next few days.
