Republicans have had plenty of time to ‘replace’
Congress has repealed the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). OK, not really, but let’s move forward.
“Replace.” With six years of having a majority in the House and two in the Senate, Republicans have had time to come up with a replacement plan; they should have had it ready to go Day 1.
They did not. But let’s make sure to let them know what we think should be in the plan — the regulations on highly profitable health insurance companies that protect health care consumers: coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, no lifetime caps, allowing young adults in school to stay on parents’ plans and more. Call and write Sens. Burr and Tillis, as well as representatives, to express your concerns.

Lack of spare tire is risky
In regards to a minivan bought recently: This van didn’t come with a spare tire, just a tire kit that is only good for small punctures.
I had a flat on New Year’s Day. Luckily, I made it home before it went completely flat. The problem is, it is unsafe for a 70-year-old woman to be caught with a flat out on the road on New Year’s Day. No one is open to fix a flat. Towing companies can only tow vehicles, not fix a flat. They would change the spare if I had one.
If I had not made it home, I would have been able to have van towed, left it someplace to have the tire fixed the next day and tried to find a way home. Very unsafe.
I don’t like it that a van was made without a spare, or that anyone would put me at a safety risk by selling me that van.
I just want others to be aware that you don’t want to buy a vehicle that doean’t have a spare tire. It is a safety risk.

No point in reading comics
Suddenly the comic strip “For Better or Worse” disappeared from the Post — the last one I would expect to be dropped. I used to read some of the other comics. “Pickles” sometimes makes me laugh, and “The Family Circus” is often amusing. But without “For Better or Worse” the comics are a section I now ignore.

A smile for Clemson
I first met Mr. Hall Steele in 1981 at a IPTAY (athletic booster) party for the Clemson Tigers’ National Championship. He is certainly smiling today. Guess his wings glowed orange Monday night.
