A burglar managed to steal one safe but couldn’t remove a second one, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Robert Ramsing, 245 T. Brown Road, told deputies someone entered his home the night of Feb. 29. The one safe stolen was valued at $40 and contained $900 cash.

– Ronald Edward Athey, 45, 5990 Faith Road, was charged Feb. 29 with second-degree trespassing based on a complaint by Judy Miller Holshouser, 5933 Faith Road. He was released on a written promise to appear in court March 27.
– Jesse Lee Leazer, 38, 235 Leazer Road, Mooresville, was charged March 2 with felony possession of a controlled substance. He was held under $5,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Terry Wayne Wright, 50, 1515 S. Salisbury Ave., No. 29, was charged March 2 with felony possession of a firearm by a felon and felony possession of stolen goods. He was held under $2,500 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Mamie Smith, 120 Pecan Lane, reported vandals caused $2,000 damage to her heat pump Feb. 28.
– Anthony Neil Gaines, 25, 2350 E. N.C. 152, China Grove, was charged Feb. 29 with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance at 1300 Lower Stone Church Road, Rockwell. He was held under $20,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Penny Richardson Monroe Misenheimer, 31, 1330 Hurley School Road, was charged Feb. 29 with carrying concealed weapons, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony possession of a controlled substance. She was held under $3,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– James E. Neely, 119 Division St., East Spencer, reported a burglar cut locks on his storage building Feb. 29.
– James Lingle, 460 St. Matthew’s Church Road, reported vandals broke a $100 window at his home Feb. 29.
– Jimmie Ray Linn, 119B Cedar Drive, was charged Feb. 29 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Lydia Margaret Haney, same address.
– Jeremy Blackwell, 278 Calloway Drive, was charged March 1 with fleeing to elude arrest and unsafe movement.
– Brandon Stephon McIntosh, 16, 2610 Winding Way, was charged March 1 with misdemeanor larceny of a bicycle from Rina Ester Barrientos’ home at 2202 Airport Road.
– Ronald J. Turner, 1555 Long Ferry Road, reported $10,000 worth of auto body repair equipment stolen between Feb. 27 and March 1 from his property.
– Gerald Orbison, 304 Forrest Winds Drive, reported March 1 that he caught three subjects trying to steal automobile engines from property he cares for at 140 Reid Farm Road. The subjects’ vehicle got stuck when they tried to flee, and they then ran away on foot.
– Sidney Keith Billings, 44, was charged March 2 with possession of firearms by a felon, felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor carrying concelaed weapons on Foster Road in Cleveland. He was held under $2,500 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Joseph D. Pacheco, an employee at Derrick’s Travel Plaza, 1105 Peeler Road, reported someone stole a $349.99 gas generator from the business March 2.
– Stacy Guy Barnette, 165 Ervin Loop Road, China Grove, reported a $45 chain saw stolen from his storage building March 2.
– James K. Shulenburger reported a $50 shotgun stolen between Feb. 1 and 28 from 2330 Hurley School Road.
– Rick Vanhoy reported vandals caused $50 damage between March 1 and 3 at East Rowan High School, 175 St. Luke’s Church Road.
– Mike Airehart, of Cloninger Ford, reported Feb. 26 that someone cut the fence at the Julian Road storage lot and removed catalytic converters off of several cars.
– William Carl Mickey, 160 Red Pine Road, Gold Hill, reported Feb. 26 that someone entered his home through a bedroom window and stole various electronics.
– Cassandra Honeycutt, 155 Lamb Drive, reported Feb. 26 that someone entered an outbuilding and stole a sports bag and clothes.
– Eddie Athey was charged Feb. 26 with assaulting several subjects at a neighbor’s house at 5933 Faith Road.
– Alex Sanchez, an employee at Rowan Granite Quarry, 3025 Artz Road, reported Feb. 27 that someone cut two locks and stole copper wire from an air compressor at the business. Total loss was $1,000.
– Donald Steele of Kannapolis reported Feb. 27 that someone took three batteries and cut battery cables on cars parked on his property on Blake Road.
– Daniel Dwayne Pless, 604 Forest Winds Drive, was charged Feb. 27 with two counts of taking indecent liberties.
– Geoffrey Heacock, 6825 U.S. 52, reported Feb. 27 that an X-Box had been stolen from his home.
– Bryce Honeycutt, 8370 U.S. 52, Rockwell, was charged Feb. 28 with simple possession of marijuana and driving while impaired after he was stopped on U.S. 29 near Webb Road.
– Lynn Sellers, 169 Farm Estates Drive, reported Feb. 28 that someone damaged a $200 light fixture at her home.
– David King, 7150 Unity Church Road, Kannapolis, reported Feb. 28 that $2,130 worth of tools and paint sprayers had been stolen from his vehicle.
– Kyle Robinson, 345 Homer Corriher Road, reported Feb. 28 that items valued at $402 had been stolen from his van.
– Bill Earnhardt reported Feb. 28 that scrap metal had been stolen from behind a mobile home at 655 Liberty Road.
– Bobby Deese, 8098 Longbriar Drive, Kannapolis, reported Feb. 28 that two television sets, a gun and his 1989 Pontiac Sunbird had been stolen. Total loss was $2,400.
– The owner of Ann Rowland Furniture reported Feb. 28 that her identity had been stolen and two credit cards obtained in her name.
– A burglar broke into 1395 Ebeneezer Road Feb. 28 and removed items.
– The embezzlement of $45 from a register is under investigation at Bojangle’s, 985 Peeler Road.
– Jessica Nicole Wise reported items valued at $1,090 stolen from 1580 Pine Ridge Road, China Grove, the night of March 2.
– Richard Franklin Wilson reported a $1,000 trailer stolen from 920 N.C. 801, Woodleaf, between Feb. 29 and March 3.
– Carl Doyle Wilson Jr., 825 Lippard Road, reported $900 was taken from his briefcase at his home between Feb. 29 and March 1.
– Katherine Wallace, 2025 White Road, reported $100 damage to her mailbox March 3.
– Melissa Ketchie, 1170 Wyatt Grove Church Road, Gold Hill, reported someone shot her cat at her home the night of March 2.
– Daryl Wayne Barnhardt, 49, 416 S. Beaver St., Landis, was charged March 4 with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failing to appear in court. He was held under $700 secured bond pending an April 21 trial date.
– Matthew Allan Callahan, 19, 210 Grand Oaks Drive, Rockwell, was charged March 3 with simple assault on a handicapped person based on a complaint by Timothy R. Callahan, same address. He was held under $500 secured bond pending an April 17 trial date.
– Akeem Olajaiwong Evans, 19, 324 Southern St., East Spencer, was charged March 3 with misdemeanor larceny based on a complaint by Jolisa Nicole Steele, 229 W. 12th St. He was released on a written promise to appear in court April 17.
– Steven Ray Ledbetter, 36, 6549 Enochville Circle, Enochville, was charged March 3 with injury to real property based on a complaint by Ravenelle Jones, 154 Pembrook Lane, Kannapolis. He was released on a written promise to appear in court April 10.
– Tim Mark Lunsford reported a burglary at 327 Old Tulip Farm Road the night of March 2.
– Shaneka Lechae Roebuck reported a March 4 burglary at 280 Evergreen Drive.
– Billy Joe Martin reported a larceny from 950 St. Matthew’s Church Road March 3 or 4.
– James Franklin Haithcock reported a larceny at 8385 Old Beatty Ford Road, Rockwell, between Feb. 15 and March 3.
– Counterfeit money was passed between Feb. 27 and March 3 at Derrick Travel Plaza, 1105 Peeler Road.
– Christopher Scott Miller reported a burglar broke into 2318 Fowler St., Kannapolis, March 4.
– Robert Greene, 59, was charged March 4 with assault on a female at 295 Goodson Road.
– Jennifer Porter Alexander, 37, was charged March 4 with financial card fraud and larceny by employee.
– Chris Jones, 22, was charged March 4 with injury to personal property at 416 Iredell Ave., Spencer.
– Chandi Lynn Gilleran, 25, was charged March 4 with assault by pointing a gun at 8060 Fisher Road, Rockwell.
– Shaneka Lechae Roebuck was charged March 4 with using a telephone to threaten bodily harm at 280 Evergreen Drive.
– Nina Lauren Ramirez, 17, was charged March 5 with three counts of resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer at 225 Fox Grove Lane.
