SALISBURY — Salisbury’s boys basketball team left no doubt, hammering East Davidson here Friday night, 66-22.
Salisbury is now 10-4 and 3-1 in the Central Carolina Conference. The Golden Eagles fall to 3-15 and 1-4.
The Hornets led at halftime, 48-16, and continued the onslaught until the running clock began with a 40-point lead at the end of the third period.
East Davidson did not score in the fourth quarter and without a 3-pointer from Elijah Moss, the Hornets’ wouldn’t have either.
Salisbury senior wing Will Leckonby led the scoring with 14 points — four 3-pointers and a regular bucket.
Trell Baker followed with 11 points while Zae Harris contributed nine and Tre Oats added eight points.
Salisbury returns to action tonight against North Rowan in a game scheduled at Catawba College’s Goodman Gym.
