Salisbury girls roll over Lexington, 80-34

LEXINGTON — Salisbury’s girls jumped out to a 24-1 first-quarter lead and coasted past Lexington, 80-34, in CCC action on Tuesday night.

The victory was the Hornets’ 15th consecutive, moving their record to 15-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference. Lexington falls to 4-16 and 1-6.

Senior guard Tyzarea Alexander had a huge game for Salisbury with 23 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Alexander’s 23 points matched her career high.

Sophomore forward Bryanna Troutman scored 17 points, to go along with 11 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Junior guard Maria Capito scored 16 points, making 3-of-4 three-point attempts.

Also scoring in double figures was senior guard Mystjkal Phifer with 10 points. She also grabbed eight rebounds.

The 80 points were the most scored by Salisbury this season.
