SALISBURY — The 108th NAACP Founders Day Celebration will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Caldwell St.

Gemale A. Black, president of the Salisbury-Rowan NAACP, said Sunday’s celebration will focus on the organization’s legacy of promoting freedom, justice and equality for all.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet the NAACP’s newly elected president, officers and executive committee, “which will work to embody the morals and values which this grand organization was founded upon,” Black said.

The celebration will include inspirational music and a keynote address by the Rev. Dr. C.L. Phelps, followed by a reception in James L. Stowe Fellowship Hall.
