SPENCER — The Spencer Woman’s Club and Women Embracing Excellence will host a fashion show at 7 tonight.
The show, held at the Spencer Women’s Club, is a chance for the “community to come together as one,” said Nicole Sherrill-Jamison, founder of the nonprofit group Women Embracing Excellence.
The theme, “Fashion Fades, Styles Are Eternal,” will feature local models. All participants are bringing their own clothing to share, and Sherrill-Jamison said it’s a chance to show off the diversity of local communities. Local women, and a few men, from different walks of life and cultures will be the stars of the show.
“Each person is bringing their excellence in their own way,” she said.
Women Embracing Excellence is a local nonprofit organization that coordinates and hosts programs and services for women with a goal of inspiring women to be their best. Programs focus on personal and professional development, inspiration, empowerment, mentoring and socializing in a community of women.
Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Convention and Visitors Bureau, from any Women Embracing Excellence board member or at the door. All proceeds will support an education scholarship for women.
Sherrill-Jamison said she hopes that people attending have a great time but also that they take something away with them.
“I’m hoping that people leave with a feeling of greatness through fashion,” she said. “But the most important thing is that we want the community to get together and embrace our women.”
The show will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Spencer Women’s Club, 200 Third St., Spencer.
