When you go bar-hopping in Spain, the bartender puts down your glass of wine, and right beside it, a little plate of food called tapas.
Do not think “peanuts.”
Think fresh roasted asparagus wrapped in prosciutto. Think skewers of marinated pork. Warm, spicy shrimp. Miniature omelets with grilled onion and potato. Whatever it is, these tapas are delivered almost as a gift, as a message, to savor the wine and enjoy the moment.
Now the public can savor the moment right here in Salisbury when “The Faces of Abundant Living” offers “A Wine and Tapas Experience” at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Abundant Living Adult Day Services, 1416-A S. Martin Luther King Ave.
RagApple Lassie Vineyards, from the Yadkin Valley, will be on hand to pour a wide variety of wines paired with a great selection of those delicious tapas.
Folks will be able to buy raffle tickets for a Wine Valley Weekend that includes accommodations for six in the vineyard’s guest cottage, cases of wine, dinners, and free tastings at other Yadkin Valley vineyards. Guests will also be treated to the opening of the third annual “Faces” portrait exhibit.
Tickets for “A Wine and Tapas Experience” are $45 per person. For more information, call 704-637-3940.
