South Yadkin canoe, kayak race will be held May 13

The 32nd annual South Yadkin River Canoe and Kayak Race, sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 448, will be held May 13.

The course is a scenic 6-mile, flat-water stretch of the South Yadkin ending as the river meets the main channel of the Yadkin River.

The race start is at the U.S. 601 bridge and access area west of Salisbury and at the Davie County line. A pre-race meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m.; the race begins at 10 a.m. The race is sanctioned by the U.S. Canoe Association.
