Granite Quarry Elementary
Granite Quarry Elementary School has recognized the following students as January Good Citizens for the character trait of perseverance. Each student received recognition at a luncheon and had his or her picture on the Good Citizen bulletin board for the month.
• Kindergarten: Tanner Byrd, Kyler Perkins, Denise Rowland and Chloe Wagoner.
• First grade: Shymire Bookhart, Christopher Hanson, Ayden Jones and Noel Irving.
• Second grade: Saniya Saunders, Grace Snowden, Hannias Bennett, Jaydin Webb and Sonora Roseman.
• Third grade: Layla Bass, Tyler Privett, Kaitlyn Christopher, Lily Ann Bostian and Sonora Roseman.
• Fourth grade: Giseslle Camacho-Serrano, Dale Myers, Alondra Noyola-Mata and Mandy Shaver.

The following students were named as Good Citizens for the month of February:

The following students were selected as Good Citizens at North Rowan Elementary based on the character trait Integrity:

University of South Carolina Upstate
Andrew Purcell, of Salisbury, has been named to the fall 2016 Dean’s List at the University of South Carolina Upstate.
To be eligible for the Dean’s List, freshman students must earn a 3.25 or higher.
