DETROIT ó Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer to cap the Detroit Tigersí second straight eighth-inning rally, beating the Minnesota Twins 6-5 on Tuesday night
Magglio Ordonez homered and drove in two runs, and Gary Sheffield and Carlos Guillen also hit home runs for Detroit, which scored six times Monday in the eighth inning for an 11-9 win over Minnesota.
Justin Morneau homered for Minnesota and Joe Mauer drove in two runs.
The Tigers trailed 4-3 going into the eighth, but Placido Polanco walked with one out. He advanced to third on Jesse Crainís wild pick off throw to first. An out later, Ordonez doubled to right to tie it and Cabrera followed with a drive over the left-field fence.
Red Sox 5, Indians 3
CLEVELAND ó Jason Varitek hit a pinch-hit home run in the ninth inning off Jensen Lewis to lead Boston to a two-game sweep in an ALCS rematch.
Varitek didnít start as Kevin Cash caught knuckleballing starter Tim Wakefield. But he came up with one out in the ninth and drove a 1-2 pitch from Lewis (0-1) the opposite way to left-center for his third career homer as a pinch-hitter.
Mariners 11, Royals 6
SEATTLE ó Jose Lopez became the 12th player in major league history to hit three sacrifice flies in a game, Yuniesky Betancourt drove in three runs and Seattle set a season high for runs.
Lopez joined Edgar Martinez as the only other Mariners player to have three sacrifice flies in a game. The Mariners had five sac flies overall to tie a team record set Aug. 7, 1988, at Oakland.

ARLINGTON, Texas ó Gary Matthews Jr. snapped out of a slump with a tiebreaking, three-run double, and Los Angeles rallied to hand Texas its fifth straight loss.
Matthews was in a 3-for-27 slide before his double to left-center in the sixth inning off Josh Rupe (0-1) broke a 4-all tie.
White Sox 4, Athletics 1
CHICAGO ó John Danks celebrated his 23rd birthday with his first win in 12 starts, taking a shutout into the eighth inning to lead the White Sox past Oakland.
Danks (1-1) held the Athletics to five singles while striking out four and walking two. Carlos Quentin hit a three-run homer in the fourth for Chicago.
Yankees 5, Rays 3
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. ó Andy Pettitte allowed three runs over seven innings and Hideki Matsui homered to lead New York to a two-game sweep.
Pettitte (2-1) gave up nine hits ó seven in the first three innings ó struck out five and walked three.
The left-hander is 14-2 against Tampa Bay overall, including 8-1 in games at Tropicana Field. Pettitte got the loss in his first start of the season against the Rays on April 5.
Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth for his fifth save in five opportunities.
Blue Jays 11, Orioles 3
BALTIMORE ó Aaron Hill hit a three-run homer, Alex Rios and Matt Stairs each had two RBIs for Toronto.
David Eckstein had three hits and scored three runs for the Blue Jays, who reached season highs in runs and hits (16).
