Livingstone College Theatre Arts Department presents The Student Directing Festival at 8 p.m. April 25; 7 p.m. April 27; and 8 p.m. April 30 and May 1.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
The festival is at the Tubman Little Theatre, 701 W. Monroe St.

The directors

Senior Just-In Dancy directed iFast Girlsî by Diana Amsterdam. Dancy is a senior theatre arts major who plans to pursue an MFA at Old Dominion University.
Angel Banks, a senior theatre arts major, is directing iThe Owl Killerî by Philip Hayes Dean.
Banks has stage managed iTo Be Young, Gifted and Blackî and iGodís Trombonesî while at Livingstone. She also performed in iA Raisin in the Sunî and iSubject was Roses.
Joseph Richey is directing iSimple Directionsî by Tom Taggart. Richey is a theatre arts major who received a football scholarship to attend Livingstone.
Deanna Davis, a junior majoring in theatre arts, is directing iThe Big Black Boxî by Cleve Houbold.
She has worked as a stage manager and has been in iTwo Gentlemen of Veronaî and iKarmaís Closet.î
Monifa Y. LaRena is a senior theatre arts major. She wrote as well as directed iBurger Joint Bluesî and in May will be the first person on her fatherís side of the family to receive a college degree. Upon graduation, she plans to move back to her native Atlanta and open a production company.
Nickesha Martin is directing iSoul Gone Home,î a Langston Hughes play. Martin mostly works backstage but loves to act. She is best known for her role as Kiesha Tyme in iKarmaís Closet.î
