Rowan Helping Ministries recently received a $5,000 contribution from the Food Lion Charitable Foundation. Officials say it was just in time to help feed local residents at a time of the year when giving is typically lower.
The money will be used to buy basics like peanut butter, rice and dried beans.
The generosity of Food Lion Charitable Foundation is instrumental in making it possible for Rowan Helping Ministries to provide food to neighbors in need in Rowan County, officials said.
“This gift through the Food Lion Charitable Foundation is yet another way our local grocer, Food Lion, continues to partner with Rowan Helping Ministries to feed the hungry and the food insecure families in our community. Our county is fortunate to have strong corporate donors in our community like Food Lion,” said Rowan Helping Ministries Executive Director Kyna Grubb.
