MOORESVILLE — Girls on the Run of the Greater Piedmont will host its 5k on May 13 at Lowe’s Corporate Headquarters, 1000 Lowe’s Boulevard, Mooresville. Participation in the 5k event is open to the public. All proceeds from the event will benefit Girls on the Run of the Greater Piedmont.

On-site registration and packet pick-up begins at 8 a.m. Team warm-ups and a kid’s Fun Run will commence immediately following the national anthem at 8:45 a.m. The 5k will begin promptly at 9 a.m.

Registration fees vary, adults aged 14 and up are $25, youth aged 13 and under are $15 and Fun Run participation — available to all ages — is $10. Current Girls on the Run program participants do not need to register for the 5k as their program registration includes their entry fee. All participants receive an event shirt.

About Girls on the Run

 Girls on the Run is a non-profit prevention program for girls in the third through the eighth grade. Their mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
