Letter: Don’t worry, health care will work out
Published 9:00 pm Tuesday, May 9, 2017
Doshia James of Concord, please don’t worry too much about the health bill as stated in your May 8 letter (“Harmful health bill”).
Your concerns are understandable, but when Obamacare passed, many of the leaders passing it had never even read it. It was reported that people over a certain age could no longer receive health care or mammograms even if they paid cash for them. This was quickly corrected.
From 1776 until Obamacare, millions of Americans were without health care insurance, as there was no national plan and, thanks to many agencies and local plans, most received the same quality of care as Americans with traditional insurance.
Our country will always take care of the citizens with or without a national plan. Please don’t stress over it. Just wait and trust that it will work out just as it always has in our great nation. All the best to you.
