Question: Where is the concert?
Answer: Pops at the Post takes place on the 100 block of South Church Street. The symphony orchestra will be seated behind the Salisbury Post building on the loading dock, with the audience in the parking lots across the street.

Question: When does the event begin?
Answer: Tailgating will begin at 1 p.m., and vendors will be set up along Fisher Street by 4 p.m. The Salisbury Swing Band will perform from 5 to 7 p.m. The symphony performance begins at sundown, around 8 p.m.

Question: How long does the concert last?
Answer: The concert is typically two hours long with a 15-minute intermission. The orchestra comes prepared with two planned encores, though attendees are free to leave at any time.

Question: Will there be programs available?
Answer: Yes. Programs will be available at the Salisbury Symphony’s tent located along Innes Street. Programs are printed on handheld fans to to be used for guest comfort and convenience.

“The old-fashioned way to cool yourself that still works,” said symphony executive director Linda Jones with a laugh.

Question: Where can I park?
Answer: Parking is available throughout the downtown area.

Question: Is there handicapped parking available?
Answer: Yes. A limited number of handicapped parking spots will be available off Innes Street in the Post courtyard.

Question: Are reserved seats available?
Answer: Around 200 reserved seats are available during the performance, typically reserved for event sponsors, Salisbury Symphony season ticket holders and concertgoers with disabilities. At noon, guests may inquire about vouchers for reserved chairs at the symphony tent on Innes Street. Chairs will be available at 4 p.m. and unclaimed seats will be released to the general public at 7:45 p.m.

Question: What happens in the event of rain?
Answer: If rain is forecast, the concert will be moved to Keppel Auditorium located at Catawba College. A decision will be made on this relocation by noon Friday. More information will be available on the Salisbury Post or Salisbury Symphony websites.

Question: Are restrooms available?
Answer: Yes. Standard and accessible portable toilets are available in the back of the parking lot.

Question: Will anyone be selling food or drinks?
Answer: Yes. Vendors will be set up along the western edge of the large parking lot.

Question: What if there is an emergency?
Answer: EMS, city police and the fire department will be on standby during the event.

Question: Is alcohol allowed?
Answer: No. The event is intended to be family friendly.

Question: Are pets allowed?
Answer: No pets are allowed.

Question: Are spots for tailgating still available?
Answer: At the time of this publication, tailgating spots are extremely limited. Check www.eventbrite.com/e/pops-at-the-post-tailgating-2017-tickets-33080817616 for any availability. Spots may be reserved through a $75 donation to Pops at the Post, and tailgaters can set up 1-7 p.m on concert day.

Question: When can guests set up personal chairs?
Answer: Due to event setup and insurance reasons, guests must wait until noon on the day of the concert to set up personal chairs and picnic blankets.

Question: Are there other ways to donate to Pops at the Post?
Answer: Donations will be collected the day of the event as local volunteers pass the hat. Alternatively, contributions can be mailed to Pops at the Post, P.O. Box 4639, Salisbury, NC 28145, or made online through the Pops at the Post Facebook page or The Network for Good. All funds contribute to the continuation of this annual event.
