For the Salisbury Post
For many, the best part about Pops at the Post is its ability to bring the Rowan County community together. Fun and fellowship alongside free music is great, but where would the event be without the presence of much-adored food and beverage vendors?
This year, tasty treats at the Pops range from classic Southern comfort fare to cool and refreshing summer treats. Check out our list below for a rundown on what to look out for:
TnG BBQ
Owned by Obie Faggart of China Grove, this mobile catering company will be joining Pops at the Post for the second time this Saturday. They will be serving smoked barbecue trays, barbecue sandwiches and more.
Som’s Meat on a Stick
A vendor at Pops since the very beginning, Som’s Meat on a Stick will be back this year with their classic pork and chicken skewers and grilled corn on the cob.
Kabobs Gourmet Food Truck
Owned and operated by Andrew Dionne and John Rojas, Kabobs will be on site with their tasty Greek cuisine for their fourth year as a Pops at the Post vendor.
Kaye’s Funnel Cakes
Robert and Kaye Corriher, co-owners of Kaye’s Funnel Cakes, will be catering to the sweet tooth among us. They will serve fresh-pressed lemonade, funnel cakes and deep-fried Oreos.
Boy Scouts
Mike Bostian, an employee of the Salisbury Post, will be out with a local Boy Scout Troop, offering hamburgers and hotdogs with all the standard ‘fixings.’
Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar
A Pops at the Post newbie this year, this downtown treasure plans to serve a Low Country boil, crab dip and chips, chicken wings, chicken tenders and french fries.
Pelican’s SnoBalls
One option for keeping cool at this year’s Pops will be the shaved ice treats offered by Pelican’s SnoBalls, available in a variety of flavors.
Mr. Cone
Another longtime Pops at the Post vendor, Mr. Cone will be on site to offer cool and creamy ice cream. From cones to cups and sundaes, operator Joe Bello will be offering something for everyone.
Cheerwine
Last but certainly not least will be the presence of Cheerwine at Saturday’s event. This Salisbury-rooted beverage and sponsor of Pops just celebrated a century of success, and they have been a presence at our hometown event since the beginning. This year, they will serve not only Cheerwine and Diet Cheerwine, but also Sun Drop and Diet Sun Drop.
