SALISBURY — Sacred Heart Catholic School has hired two faculty members.
Curt Morgan is the new middle school math teacher.
Morgan worked with Rowan-Salisbury Schools as a sixth-grade math teacher for five years. He has a state license and multiple certifications in middle-grade math as well as K-6 certification. He is a former RSS Teacher of the Year and has experience with technology and 21st-century classroom instruction.
Bradford “BJ” Spencer is the new athletic director and middle school physical education teacher, beginning June 30.
Spencer has been the K-8 grade PE teacher at Davidson Day School for the past three years. He coached high school varsity boys basketball, junior varsity basketball and varsity baseball. He has also been an assistant to the school’s head athletic director.
In addition, Spencer has been director of skill development of pro skills basketball and has coached AAU basketball teams for the past three years. Before 2014, Spencer played pro basketball for six years in the Eurobasket Pro Leagues — including in Serbia, Portugal, Poland, Serbia, Lebanon, Iceland, Syria and Spain. Spencer played basketball at the college level for Jacksonville State University.
Spencer has a bachelor of science degree in psychology and a minor in physical education.
“I want the best for my middle school students at Sacred Heart,” Principal Tyler Kulp said. “Morgan and Spencer bring new energy and a wealth of experience and knowledge with them. We are very excited.”
