Salisbury Academy alumni make their college choices

SALISBURY — Eighteen Salisbury Academy alumni graduated from area high school programs Saturday and now are ready for college.
Students and their destinations include: Isabella Alvarez, headed to Duke University; Sharmi Amin, Duke; Juliana Anderson, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Steven Anderson, UNC-Asheville; Ruth Clement, Appalachian State University; Carter Cook, North Carolina State University; Marcus Corry, Campbell University; Thomas Cummings, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst; Madison Day, North Carolina State, Mike D. Hughes Jr., UNC-Asheville; Andreas Kalogeromitros, Lenoir-Rhyne University; Jenny Kribbs, UNC-Chapel Hill; Abby Lee, Meredith College; Jordan McCall, Western Carolina University; Samantha Pritchard, High Point University; Morgan Warren, New York University; Katie White, UNC-Chapel Hill; and Jealan McClellan, Clinton Junior College.
“Their futures hold great promise and the students are ready to take this next, exciting step,” said Beverly Fowler, Salisbury Academy head of school. “We look forward to supporting and celebrating our graduates on their journeys and learning of their experiences and accomplishments in years to come.”
Salisbury Academy also congratulates its Class of 2017: Charles Barr, Cullen Bolyea, Thomas Bristol, Madelynn Castor, Margaret Dees, William Fowler, Julia Hake, Zeb Harry, Ronni Lilly, Jude Lockhart, Quinn Lockhart, Joshua Portillo, Emma Nianouris, Virginia Moye Robertson, Nikhil Roy and Phoebe Shields.
The 2017 graduates will attend Cannon School, Carson High School, Gray Stone Day School, Rowan County Early College, Salem Academy and Salisbury High School.
