Department seems slow to respond

I am writing this to question why the Franklin Township has become so slow to respond or won’t even respond to calls when they are dispatched.

In the past two days other fire departments have been dispatched to help out because Franklin is so slow to answer the call — on Sunday for a traffic accident on U.S. 601 and on Monday morning for power lines down and arching with the grass burning.

Both times Franklin had to be called twice before someone answered.

My dad (who is 73) lives in this district, and I am getting worried for his safety. Too many times, Franklin won’t even answer medical calls at night. I know it’s a volunteer department, but where are the guys and gals who are suppose to be volunteering?
