Stormy weather will increase today, Saturday and into Monday as high humidity and unstable air clash.

Some of these storms could become severe, especially late this afternoon and into the evening. Expect frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, damaging winds and hail the size of quarters. The storms are slow-moving and could lead to prolonged periods of heavy rain, causing flash floods in some areas.

It will be partly sunny this morning, then a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms moves in this afternoon. The high will be 88, with south wind around 5 mph in the afternoon. A tenth to a quarter inch of rain is expected, but more will fall in thunderstorms.

Tonight’s chance of showers and storms is 70 percent, mainly before 11 p.m. The low will be 69 with mostly cloudy skies. A quarter to half inch of rain is possible.

Saturday also has a 70 percent chance of storms and showers, mainly after noon. Patchy fog is possible before 9 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 86, with south wind at 3-7 mph. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible, but heavy storms could dump higher amounts.

The chance for unsettled weather is 60 percent Saturday night, with most storms before 9 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy with a low of 68 and south wind at 3-5 mph.

For Sunday, the chance of showers and thunderstorms is 50 percent, mainly after 10 a.m. It will be partly sunny and 86, with south southwest wind at 5-9 mph. That 50 percent chance of rain continues Sunday night, with a low of 70.

Monday, showers and storms are likely, with another 70 percent chance of rain. It will be mostly cloudy and 86. Monday night also has a 70 percent chance of storms and showers throughout the night and into the morning. It will be mostly cloudy and 68.

Tuesday has a 40 percent chance of showers, and a high of 84 with partly sunny skies. The chance of rain decreases to 30 percent Tuesday night, with a low of 67.

Wednesday should be mostly sunny and 86, with a low of 69.

And Thursday should be mostly sunny and 88.
