Little League Softball: Rowan advances to championship game

Rowan’s Senior Little League team won again on Saturday and advanced to today’s Southeast Regional championship game today at Salisbury Community Park at 2 p.m.
Rowan beat the Virginia state champs, Washington Little League of Bristol, 9-2 on Saturday.
Aubrey Tuell pitched a complete game with four strikeouts.
Tate Barger had three of Rowan’s eight hits, while Ally Young had two.
Rowan took advantage of five errors.
Rowan scored five runs in the first two innings to take a 5-1 lead and pulled away with a four-run fifth.
Tennessee eliminated Florida, 10-4, and Georgia ousted West Virginia, 16-9, in early games on Saturday. That left Tennessee, Georgia and Virginia competing for the other berth in the championship game. Tennessee was taking on Georgia in Saturday’s late game.
