The Mooresville Spinners defeated the High Point Locos 12-2 on Friday night.
Ross Hoffner (Davie, Surry) became the first Spinner to start at all nine positions in one season.
Hoffner went 2-for-5 with three RBIs. He’s batting .357 in 29 games.

Connor Johnson (East Rowan, Catawba) pitched 4 1/3 innings of hitless ball in the Northwoods League on Saturday.
Johnson struck out six with no walks.
Local golf
The 68th Carolinas Junior Boys Championship will be held at Cabarrus Country Club on July 25-27.
Legion baseball
Randolph County rolled to a 13-5 win against Pitt County late Saturday in the state tournament in Greenville.
Randolph and Wilmington are the two unbeaten teams after two days.
Also still alive with one loss are Rowan County, Hope Mills, Garner and Pitt County.
Cherryville and Shelby were eliminated on Saturday, marking the first time in the 18-year history of a single-site state tournament that Area IV teams didn’t win a single game.
Intimidators
Gavin Sheets doubled twice, but the Kannapolis Intimidators fell to the Columbia Fireflies, 4-0, on Saturday night at Intimidators Stadium.
Mitch Roman also had two hits for Kannapolis (50-47, 11-18).
Kannapolis continues a seven-game homestand today with the second game of a four-game series against Columbia tonight at 5:05 p.m.
