Woman driving wrong way on East Innes Street faces DWI charge

A Gold Hill woman who was driving the wrong way on East Innes Street early Sunday morning has been charged with driving while impaired.
Angela Michelle Tidwell, 37, of 1660 St. Peters Church Road, is also charged with having an open container of alcohol after consumption and possession of Xanex.
According to warrants filed at the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office, Rowan Sheriff’s Deputy D.W. Dearth observed Tidwell driving a 1994 Honda on the wrong side of East Innes near the Interstate 85 bridge at 1:29 a.m. Sunday.
Her bond was set at $500 with an Oct. 24 appearance in Rowan District Court.
