Thank you for the extensive story about the leadership and accomplishments of Mr. George C. Knox, former principal of R.A. Clement High School and West Rowan Junior High School.
The George Knox Scholarship is sponsored and given annually at West Rowan High School by the R.A. Clement Alumni Association, composed of alumni and friends of the former R.A. Clement High School. Although the award is given annually to at least one student at West Rowan, it may also be awarded to graduating seniors at other high schools in the county.
The R.A. Clement Association also awards R.A. Clement Scholarships, throughout the county, to descendants of students who attended R.A. Clement; and the Association awards the William Hall Scholarship to a graduating senior in Anson County, where Mr. Hall, our first alumni president, taught for more than 30 years.
