East Rowan lost at Central Cabarrus, 33-13, on Friday in non-conference football.
After a scoreless first quarter, Central scored three TDs in the second quarter to take charge.
East (2-2) trailed 33-0 at one point against the Vikings, who got four TD passes from Evan McGee. Jeremiah Taylor caught two TD passes for the Vikings.
Both East TDs came in the third quarter, with Noah Green scoring on a 4-yard run and Sam Wall scoring from the 5. Gabe Hinceman kicked a PAT. East failed on a 2-point try after its other score.
Wall rushed 29 times for 149 yards. Sammy Pinkney had a 66-yard run. Green had a sack.
Former East coach Kenneth McClamrock coached the Vikings (2-2).
East takes on Mount Pleasant next week.

South Rowan lost at East Davidson, 49-21, in the Central Carolina Conference opener for the Raiders in Thomasville.
Kory Sellers had a huge game for SR (0-3) with two TD receptions and a long scoring run on a faked punt. He accounted for 279 yards rushing and receiving.
“Kory had a phenomenal game,” South coach Daniel Yow said. “Over 300 yards with his return yardage.”
Brett Amburn threw for 208 yards and two TDs. German Delgado kicked a PAT and Garrett Harrington caught a 2-point conversion pass. Demarcus Blackwell rushed for 114 yards. So there were some bright spots.
“We just couldn’t get the butter off our hands early and turned it over four or five times,” Yow said. “That put our defense in tough situations.”
South plays Ledford for the first time next week.

Jalen Nixon scored two touchdowns, as A.L. Brown rallied to beat Mooresville, 24-16, on Friday in a non-conference game in Kannapolis.
The Wonders (3-1) trailed 9-0 early. Their comeback started with a fumble recovery by linebacker Justin Holsclaw, who also blocked a punt. That led to an 11-yard scoring run by Jaron Cooper.
A.L. Brown went up 14-9 when it got a break — Nixon scooping up a fumble by quarterback Jordan Medley and rolling 63 yards to score.
Mooresville (1-2) led 16-14 at halftime, but A.L. Brown’s defense pitched a shutout in the second half.
Brian Gutierrez kicked a go-ahead field goal early in the third quarter. Medley’s 59-yard touchdown pass to Nixon finished the scoring.
The Wonders visit West Rowan for the first time in 12 years next week.
