Tonight: Homemade chicken & noodle supper

CHINA GROVE — Today is the homemade chicken & noodle supper at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mt. Moriah Church Road, with entertainment by The Efird Family Singers and Special Friends.

Food will be served 6 -7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6:45 p.m.

Homecoming at Cooleemee First Baptist

COOLEEMEE — Cooleemee First Baptist Church, 204 Marginal St., will observe homecoming Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service with guest speaker Pastor Gary Marshall. There will be special music by Benita Finney and The Finney Family. Bring food to share after the service at a covered dish lunch.

There is no Sunday school or evening worship on Sunday.

Homecoming at Southside Baptist 

Homecoming at Southside Baptist Church, at the intersection of Morlan Park Road and Jake Alexander Blvd. is Sunday beginning with special singing at 10 a.m. by Gary Greene, Diane Smith and Jeanette Lomax. Brother Gary Craven will bring the homecoming message. A covered dish lunch will be served afterwards, celebrating 75 years of serving the Lord.

Baptism at Mt. Zion UCC 

CHINA GROVE—During the 10:30 a.m. service Amelia Ann Holshouser will receive the Sacrament of Baptism and Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, 1415 S. Main St., and Holy Communion will be celebrated. Mt. Zion practices an Open Table where all may participate. Following worship Mt. Zion UCC is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 1-5:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Confirmation at Ursinus UCC

ROCKWELL — Ursinus United Church of Christ, 116 W. Main St. will celebrate Confirmation and welcome two new members at the 11 a.m. service on Sunday. Educational Event at Immanuel

CHINA GROVE—On Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall, Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 365 Brown Road, will be holding its monthly Church in Learning event. Presenting a session on the book of Romans will be Rev. Dr. Bradley Trick, assistant professor of New Testament at Hood Seminary. Dr. Trick holds a Ph.D. from Duke Divinity School.
