The Third Annual Ugly Bug Ball, scheduled for Oct. 3, will feature a Southwestern theme.
This year the fundraiser for the Center for the Environment at Catawba College will continue to offer dancing and fun, but it will also celebrate the center’s past and upcoming air quality efforts.
Participants will have the opportunity to amble from room to room experiencing a variety of entertainment. They can listen to the Big Band sounds of Steve Etters & the Jitterbugs and enjoy a Southwestern buffet by Right Touch and desserts by Debbie Suggs. They can listen to classic hits by Lonnie Carpenter or dance to the sounds of the band Sweet Dreams. Kent Bernhardt will serve as master of ceremonies. The dress is casual.
“It’s a ball,” says Center Director John Wear. “Everyone always has a good time, and it raises awareness and much-needed funds for the center’s outreach efforts to the community and the region.”
The event will celebrate the center’s past air quality efforts, which were sponsored by F&M Bank, SunTrust Bank, Wachovia, Community One Bank, Bank of North Carolina, Power Curbers Inc., Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, Robertson Foundation, County of Rowan, City of Salisbury, Fred and Alice Stanback and Catawba College.
It will also celebrate the Center’s upcoming efforts, which will be sponsored, in part, by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
