Letter to the editor: Unanswered prayers

Since the Christians of Rowan County are in the majority and believe in the power of prayer and going to pray, like Tonya Skelly suggested (Oct. 4 opinion page), I have a request to pray about a little problem I have.

Two or so years ago a woman and a young boy prayed that my diabetes would be healed. Was it? No. It got worse. Finally, I got gangrene and my leg was amputated inches below the knee.

I received a prosthesis but it was worthless junk. The VA threw away thousands of dollars on it, and the VA is apparently not going to grant me another.

So why don’t you pray that R. Howard Andrews grows back a new leg in 24 hours at Pray Rowan or at the next county commissioners meeting. I’m looking forward to getting my new leg.

Parting shot: After my Christian neighbor got “saved” she contracted terminal cancer and died in agony. She prayed, “Lord, kill me quick! Don’t let me suffer! Lord kill me quick.”

But the “Lord” said to himself “Nothing doing.”

I once saw a church marquee that said “Praise God for everything.”
