SALISBURY — In its 42nd year, OctoberTour will have an expanded variety of vendors, music and children’s activities both Saturday and Sunday at the Hall House and in the 300 block of West Bank Street.

Bank Street is a feature all its own. It is free and open to the public. OctoberTour tickets are not required, though it also gives tour-goers a chance for a break to eat, shop and enjoy the autumn setting.

Bank Street Cafe will feature local food, craft beer and wine, vendors, artists and music both days.

Plenty of entertainment will be available for the whole family including Rowan Public Library’s Storytime on the Hall House lawn starting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday; Civil War encampments and re-enactments; Colonial children’s games presented by Rowan Museum; and antique firetruck rides provided by Brown Antique Equipment, departing from Jackson Street in front of the Hall House.

This year, members of the Salisbury Symphony will play throughout the tour hours.

Food trucks and vendors will offer a wide selection. They include Kickin’ Kitchen, Rustic Roots, The Chill, Hong Kong BBQ, Kabobs, Downtown Doughnuts and Two Red Hens.

Salisbury breweries New Sarum and Morgan Ridge will offer locally made craft beer and wine. Other vendors will include Avalon Rose Craftworks, The Carolina Artists, RCCC Art students, Brent Smith Pottery and Vintage Sound Works.

OctoberTour After Hours and the Plein Air Carolina Artists Reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday on the Hall House lawn. It’s a chance to meet the artists and view the paintings they completed during the OctoberTour Oil Painters of America Paint Out.

Paintings will be on display on the side lawn of the Hall House and are available for sale.
