Beaver 40th Anniversary

Eddie Lane Beaver and Nancy Ruth Davis Beaver of China Grove celebrated their 40th anniversary at a party with family and friends held Aug. 31 at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. The Beavers were married Sept. 1, 1968. Eddie retired from Duke Energy, and Nancy is a teacher assistant at Enochville Elementary School. The coupleís children are Sam Beaver of Kannapolis, Ruthie Beaver Welch (Jamey) of Chapel Hill and Lora Beaver Hartness (Chris) of China Grove. Their grandchildren are Kaleb Beaver, Gabriel and Caroline Welch and Kayden and Kayla Hartness.

Bost – Johnston

David and Jennifer Snider and Larry and Jill Bost, all of Salisbury, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Kaye Bost, to Stephen Todd Johnston, also of Salisbury.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Homer and Gertrue Bost, Charles and Marilyn Watson, Raymond and Prue Snider, Earl and Willie Sawyer, all of Salisbury, and Ron and Mary Jane McCulloh of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and the great-granddaughter of Hazel Snider of Salisbury. A 2004 graduate of North Rowan High School and 2008 cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Megan is employed in the Intensive Care Unit at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast in Concord.
The future groom is the son of Todd and Gail Johnston of Salisbury and the grandson of Linda Adams and late Ralph Adams, Carolyn Wagner, the late Julian Johnston and late H.L. and Margaret Pepper, all of Salisbury. A 2002 graduate of North Rowan High School, Stephen served in the United States Navy for four years. He is employed by C.E. Howard Electric.
The wedding is Oct. 18 at Trinity Wesleyan Church.

Byrd – Brown

Mr. and Mrs. Tony Byrd of Kannapolis are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Lynn Byrd of Charlotte, to Chad Newton Brown, also of Charlotte.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Alexander of China Grove and the late Mr. and Mrs. G.B. Byrd of Kannapolis. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Shannon is a Pediatric Nurse at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte.
The future groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Brown of Tarboro and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willis Ellis of Clarksville, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Otis Brown of Salem, Va. A graduate of Coastal Carolina University, he is an irrigation contractor with Kaufmann Development Corporation.
The couple will wed Oct. 18 at The VanLandingham Estate in Charlotte.

Carpenter – Bowers

Danny and Margaret Crisco of Rockwell are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine B. Carpenter, to Jason Grant Bowers of Gold Hill.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Martha Cline of Albemarle, Juanita Boone of Salisbury and J.D. Furr of Richfield. A 1998 graduate of East Rowan High School, Katherine also studied at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She is the Customer Service Manager at WalMart.
The future groom is the son of Virginia Bowers of Gold Hill. Educated at East Rowan High School, Jason is an automotive technician at WalMart.
The wedding is Oct. 11 at Rockwell City Park.
