PRESS RELEASE

Concord, NC – The Carolina Speed will make an official announcement to bring Professional Indoor Football back to the Queen City during a press conference on Tuesday, September 23 at 11 am. The team encourages all fans and media to attend the event and meet the players, owner, coach and staff. Food and beverages will be provided.

While the 2009 season will be third year of play for the Carolina Speed it will be the first year for the Speed to play in their new home of Cricket Arena. The Speed has a new local owner in Eddie Littlefield. Eddie is the President and CEO of the David Drye Company and owner of Carolina Auto Sports in Concord, NC. iI am very excited about the opportunity to move this team to Cricket Arena for the 2009 season; I feel that this new venue will give us the location, right in the heart of the Queen City, that we have been missing during the past two seasons.î

The true meaning of iCarolina Speedî was apparent this past weekend when the team became the primary sponsor of Winston-Salem, NC female driver Angie McBrideís NHRA Pro Stock motorcycle at the inaugural NHRA Carolina Nationals event September 11-14th at the all new zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC.

iWhen we had the opportunity to sponsor Angie in the inaugural race at zMAX Dragway right here in our own backyard we had to jump on it. You canít ask for a better total partnership package! What is more Charlotte, NC than motorsports and football. The two easily relate to one another and you can almost bet that most folks are huge fans of both sports and bringing the two together is the best of both worlds,î stated Eddie Littlefield owner of the Carolina Speed.

When asked about racing at her new home track in Charlotte with the colors of the Carolina Speed on board her Smith Racing Buell motorcycle, Angie had this to say: iI donít know if I can wait much longer for this weekend to get here, I mean itís just going to be awesome racing in Charlotte. And when you think it canít get any better racing at your home track with family and friends around; it does by having the Carolina Speed, Charlotteís own indoor football team; jump on board as our sponsor for the race. This weekend is like the perfect mix of adrenaline and action for any Charlotte area sports fan and Iím just thrilled Eddie (Littlefield) and the rest of the team had me be a part of it. I guess Charlotteís had the opportunity to see iCarolina Speedî on the field now itís time they see it down track.î
