Letter: A leader with backbone

I would like to encourage all of my fellow residents in the Kannapolis to vote for Van Rowell for Kannapolis City Council. Van is my father and I know him better than anyone else. I would honestly vote for him even if he wasn’t my dad because he is absolutely qualified for this position.
My father decided to plant roots in Kannapolis when he was transferred with the Fieldcrest Mills/Cannon Mills merger. He has had a vested interest in our community for over 25 years. His experience in the U.S. Army, civil engineering field and local civic organizations makes him the top choice for Kannapolis City Council.
We need a leader who has the background and experience to help ensure Kannapolis continues to grow in the best possible direction. Van Rowell is that leader. He has demonstrated the necessary skills in his career and throughout the community. He has the time to commit to this important role in local government as he has recently retired and will be able to benefit the City of Kannapolis as it moves forward.
I am very excited about the future of Kannapolis and I truly believe Van Rowell would be an asset to our city. I ask you to join me in supporting and voting for Van Rowell for Kannapolis City Council on Nov. 7.
