Gold Hill hosts Ghost Tour and prepares for annual Lighting of the Fall Fires

GOLD HILL — The Historic Gold Hill and Mines Foundation will host the Gold Hill Ghost Tour on Saturday, Oct. 28 beginning at 5 p.m.
Purchase tickets at the Russell-Rufty Shelter in Gold Hill Mines Historic Park between 5-8 p.m. only. Family group tours with young children begin at 5:30 p.m. Multiple tours with groups of 20-25 will continue throughout the evening until all patrons are out on tour.
The tour includes a walking tour to the gold mines and a hayride to the Randolph Shaft, Gold Hill Pond and the Powder House where storytellers will offer ghost stories from the 19th century mining days. Carolina Paranormal will be set up in the Gold Hill Jail to talk about paranormal activity they have encountered at Gold Hill and other sites.
Ticket holders should be prepared for a wait time. There will be four hay wagons running continuously throughout the evening to transport all patrons on the tour. Food and refreshments will be available at the Russell Rufty Shelter in the park and at Montgomery store in the village.

Tickets available now for Lighting of the Fall Fires
GOLD HILL — Tickets are on sale now in the village shops of Historic Gold Hill for the annual Lighting of the Fall Fires, the festive event that kicks off the holiday season at Historic Gold Hill.
The event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 5:30-9 p.m. Tickets are $18 each. All proceeds benefit the Gold Hill Historic Preservation Society.
