Seven complete literacy training

The Rowan County Literacy Council has just completed a workshop for new tutors.
The workshop was conducted by trainers Cindy DeLorenzo, Clyde Harriss, Phyllis Martin, Carolyn Myers, Helen Peacock and Rick Travis.
The training is for non-professional people who would like to help others improve their reading skills or to teach English as a Second Language to foreign-born residents.
Tutors completing the course were Derek Burnett, Davida Gobin, Doug McKenzie, Sue Mehl, Sarita Scott, Irene Stewart and Avis Williams.
The Literacy Council offers tutoring services to any adult 16 or older.
