Rowan County Sheriff’s officials say a Dish Network technician, who was at a Faith Road home to install service, stole a check and debit card from the 45-year-old homeowner. Warrants for his arrest have not been issued, but authorities say he was at the woman’s home March 1 and two days later her bank card had been used to pay $150 for an AT&T telephone bill and a $32.09 Dish Network bill, a department report said.
The woman’s bank confirmed the employee had already written a $660 check to himself and cashed it. The report said her bank, First Bank, would reimburse her for the losses.

• Someone broke into a home in the 2400 block of Webb Road, Salisbury, on Friday morning before noon. Authorities say jewelry was stolen.
• A Kannapolis woman reported someone broke into her home, located in the 700 block of E. 22nd Street on Saturday morning.
• A 76-year-old China Grove woman reported on Friday someone took her bank card and used it sometime between Jan. 28 and March 14.
• Someone broke into a home in the 4900 block of Moose Road in China Grove. The homeowner reported the break-in saying it occurred sometime between 10:33 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
• Vandals damaged Oak Grove United Methodist Church, which is located at 4820 West N.C. 152. The vandalism occurred sometime between 7 p.m. on Thursday and 5 p.m. Friday.
• A thief forced their way through a front door and entered a China Grove residence on Friday in the 1000 block of Rogers Road.
• A 35-year-old woman reported an assault she says occurred in the 100 block of Overbrook Road on Friday.
• Authorities are investigating a fraud case after an 87-year-old Cleveland woman reported an incident on Friday.
• Someone reported a vehicle stolen from the 3100 block of Miller Road. The vehicle, a truck, was taken sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
• Officers conducting a checkpoint on Sunday morning report a Rowan County man, Ethan Foster, 20, was charged with possession of a controlled substance schedule VI. The checkpoint was located at the corner of 3699 South Main Street and Piper Lane, Salisbury.
• A Salisbury man reported on Sunday someone vandalized his West Ridge Road property sometime between Saturday night around 7 p.m. to Sunday at 8:15 a.m.
• A Kannapolis man reported someone stole two go-karts off his Gee Drive property sometime Saturday night.
• Carol L. Smith, 35, was charged Sunday with misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun.
• Bobbie Wiles Smith, 54, was charged Sunday with misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun.
• Justin Alexander Chapman, 26, was charged with felony breaking and entering a building on Sunday.
• Timothy Wayne Poole, 37, was charged Sunday with misdemeanor breaking and entering a building while in the 100 block of Oakridge Run, Salisbury.
• Jessica Dawn Morris, 25, was charged on Sunday with felony larceny of a motor vehicle while in the 1300 block of Old Concord Road.

• A 20-year-old man reported on Monday his car was stolen from the parking lot while in the 200 block of Claymont Drive, Salisbury.
• A 17-year-old student reported a stolen cell phone Monday morning at Salisbury High, located at 500 Lincolnton Road, Salisbury.
• A 69-year-old woman reported a larceny in the 200 block of Rutherford Street.
• Police are investigating a fraud that was reported Monday by an 83-year-old woman. She says the incident occurred sometime between Dec. 2 and Dec. 12.
• Someone tried to rob a 25-year-old man he says at gunpoint in the 200 block of North Shaver Street late Monday night.
• Jason Ray Long, 32, of the 100 block of Reading Road, Salisbury, was charged with felony financial transaction card theft, misdemeanor larceny and two counts felony obtaining property by false pretenses. Rockwell Police issued the arrest warrants on Monday.
