LAHAINA, Hawaii ó Luke Harangody had 29 points and 13 rebounds as No. 8 Notre Dame hung on to beat No. 6 Texas 81-80 on Tuesday night in the semifinals of the EA Sports Maui Invitational.
Harangody missed two free throws with 3.5 seconds to play. Texas’ A.J. Abrams let fly with a shot from just beyond halfcourt that bounced off the front of the rim
The teams combined for 49 3-point attempts. Notre Dame won that battle as well, hitting 11 from beyond the arc while the Longhorns made eight.
‘Cuse 89, No. 22 Kansas 81, OTKANSAS CITY, Mo. ó Jonny Flynn had 25 points and hit a 3-pointer with 6.4 seconds left in regulation, helping Syracuse knock off Kansas in the championship game of the CBE Classic.
Syracuse (4-0) trailed by 13 early in the second half, then rallied behind hot shooting and a pressure defense to set up Flynn’s shot at the end of regulation. The Orange shot 14-for-24 in the second half and dominated overtime, hitting 5 of 8 shots to pull away.
Sherron Collins had 21 points to lead the Jayhawks.
No. 17 Florida 86, Wash. 84KANSAS CITY, Mo. ó Nick Calathes scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half and Florida held off a late rally to beat Washington in the consolation game of the CBE Classic.

Shane Clark added 10 points for the Wildcats (4-0), who their 19th straight game at The Pavilion, their 6,500-seat on-campus arena.
Villanova was without junior center Casiem Drummond, who was suspended for one game for disciplinary reasons. Coach Jay Wright said Drummond will practice today.
