CHINA GROVE — Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 4914 Old Beatty Ford Road, performs its 55th annual presentation of the outdoor drama “Christ’s Cross and Crown” today and again on Easter Sunday.
Performances are 8:30 p.m. each night. From 7-8 p.m. each night there will be free hot dogs for all. Bring a chair or blanket, sit on the hillside, and go back in time to the first Easter weekend.

Gospel Benefit program
WOODLEAF — Today at 5 p.m. is the Gospel benefit program sponsored by The Pilgrimaires for Velvie Gray, member and Deacon at Freedom United Church of God at 1555 Hart Road in Woodleaf.

MLK Memorial Peace Conference
THOMASVILLE — The Martin Luther King Social Action Committee Inc. (MLK-SAC) will host the 15th annual MLK Memorial Peace Conference on Wednesday, April 4. The Conference’s events will begin at 5 p.m. with a free Peace Meal in the fellowship hall at Citadel of Faith Christian Fellowship, 108 Salem St. After the Peace Meal there will be “Real Talk,” a conversation between a diverse group of Thomasville High School students led by Junior class president Jacquez Johnson on the topic “Enough is Enough.” Dr. Dennis W. Bishop, pastor of First Waughtown Baptist Church of Winston-Salem, will be the keynote speaker on Wednesday.
The Conference observes the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s theme is, “We will not be Divided.”
