DAVIDSON ó Stephen Curry scored 39 points and Davidson weathered a second-half rally to beat Elon 83-68 on Wednesday night.
Max Paulhus Gosselin added 10 points for the Wildcats (13-3, 6-0 Southern Conference), who extended their regular-season league winning streak to 36 games.
Curry hit 11 of 18 from the field ó including 6 of 10 3-pointers ó and 11 of 12 from the free throw line in posting his 23rd career 30-point game.
Curry scored 23 points in the first half as Davidson took a 22-point lead.
LSU 85, South Carolina 68
BATON ROUGE, La. ó Tasmin Mitchell had a career-high 30 points along with 14 rebounds, and LSU won its SEC home opener 85-68 over South Carolina.
LSU (13-3, 1-1) has won 16 straight games at home, including the final three of last season.
Devan Downey and Zam Fredrick scored 18 points apiece for South Carolina (12-3, 1-1) which saw its three-game winning streak end. Dominique Archie added 17 points for the Gamecocks.
Florida 68, Auburn 65
AUBURN, Ala.ó Nick Calathes had 17 points and made three free throws in the final seconds to lift Florida to a 68-65 win over Auburn, the 300th career victory for Gators coach Billy Donovan.
Calathes also had nine rebounds and five assists for Florida (15-2, 2-0 SEC), which has won nine straight games.
West Virginia 87, Marshall 76
CHARLESTON, W.Va. ó Freshman Darryl Bryant scored a season-high 22 points and West Virginia used a fast start to beat Marshall 87-76.
