High school fishing tournament set for Saturday

Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) High School Fishing will continue the 2018 season next Saturday (April 7) with the Bass Pro Shops High Rock Lake Open, presented by YETI.
The no-entry fee event is open to high school fishing teams from across the country, and the top 10 percent of finishers will automatically advance to the 2018 High School Fishing National Championship.
Teams should report to the Southport Boat Ramp, 886 Wildlife Recreation Area Access Road, Lexington. Takeoff will be at Southport Boat Ramp at 7 a.m. and the weigh-in will also be held at the ramp, beginning at 3 p.m. High School Fishing takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.
NOTES: The Bass Pro Shops FLW High School Fishing High Rock Lake Open is a two-person (team) event for students in grades 7-12. The top 10 percent of teams competing in each event held prior to June 10 will advance directly to the 2018 High School Fishing National Championship, which is held in conjunction with the 2018 High School Fishing World Finals, June 26-30, on Pickwick Lake in Florence, Alabama. The High School Fishing national champions will each receive a $5,000 college scholarship to the school of their choice.
