While this winter may be particularly bleak, with so many worries about the economy, Piedmont Players Theatre wants to help you relax and have some fun.
And what better way than with “A Flea in her Ear” ó a comedic romp through 1900s Paris, with sexy mistresses and dashing suitors?
This 1907 play by Georges Feydeau is considered the classicfarce, says PPT director Reid Leonard.
“This is the great one.”
The situations in the play are funny and complex, he adds.
A woman’s suspicions that her husband has been unfaithful sets off a chain of events that turn lives upside down.
With a large cast and many different plotlines, Leonard says the play is challenging to stage but promises to be great fun for audiences.
New to the Meroney stage ó but certainly not new to drama ó is retired Catawba College theatre professor Jim Epperson.
Other cast members include CaLeb Hill, Heather Van Wallendael, Travis Stewart, Shawn Van Wallendael, Dana Neelis, Frances Bendert, Jonathan Furr, Bradley Padavick, Daniel Breuer, Amber Adams, George Naylor, Becky Lippard and Eric Slipp.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. January 22-24 and 28-31. There is a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m. January 25.
