New automotive business in Rodgers Exxon location

Cale Alligood has opened Alligood Automotive at the corner of South Fulton Street and Lincolnton Road ó the former home of Rodgers Exxon.
Peter Fowler, a longtime employee of Rodgers Exxon, will be working for Alligood, who says he hopes former patrons of Bobby Rodgers will continue to patronize the business because Fowler is still there.
“I hope I can bring some customers to the table as well,” says Alligood, who has been in the business 23 years.
Alligood says he won’t be offering gas initially, but he did not rule out that possibility in the future. He will be offering the same kind of general automotive services as Rodgers Exxon did, including more with electronics testing and the ability to fix problems with cars when the “check engine” light comes on.
Alligood will offer the usual things such as state inspection, oil changes, tune-ups, brake service, tire service and more.
He says he bought Rodgers’ equipment and is leasing the building.
Station hours are from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Bobby Rodgers closed his station Dec. 31, after he and his father had been in business at this same location for almost 80 years.
