Staff report
The Rowan Arts & Ag Beer Festival scheduled for Saturday has been canceled because of expected rain and cold weather, according to the festival’s Facebook page.
The update, which was posted about 4 p.m. Friday, said organizers had taken their cue to cancel the festival from “other notable event venues in the Charlotte region which have canceled or postponed theirs.”
The next Arts & Ag series event will be the annual Tractors and Trains Festival, to be held April 14 at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer.
The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
According to the Facebook post, organizers will add activities to the Tractors and Trains Festival that were scheduled for the Beer Festival. They did not specify which activities.
General admission tickets to the Tractors and Trains Festival are $6 for adults, $5 for military personnel and seniors, $4 for children ages 3-12, and free for children 2 and younger.
“We hope you will join us for this amazing day of modern tractors, antique farm equipment, steam-powered tractors, bounce houses, strolling entertainment, artist vendors, live music, blacksmithing, corn shelling, hay rides, tractor pulls, food and so much more,” said the Facebook post.
